Process: half cleaning after relaxation and
consolidation of canvas gesso and paint layer
Before treatment: Oil on canvas, deformation of
canvas, old varnish, deposition of grime and stable
After treatment: inpainting
abraded areas, gesso
Before treatment: deteriorated surface of paint,
old varnish, numerous overpaint over missing
areas of gesso

restoration of abraded ares on saints, sealing
Before treatment: multiple areas of separated paint layer and
gilding on gesso, many losses of gesso, flaking, contraction of
wooden boards, old varnish

Process: facing entire surface of the icon to prevent any losses to paint surface, injection of adhesive into the pockets
where the gesso separated from the panel, levelling relaxed gesso, remove facing paper after a few days, compensation
of missing gesso.
After treatment: inpainting, gilding reconstructed gesso areas, sealing
Before treatment canvas was in very poor condition: multiple
losses of paint layer and gesso, paint layer and gesso were
very unstable. Treatment: consolidation both sides of painting
by penetrating with adhesive; canvas was restretched, after
removing facing; missing parts of gesso were regessed and
After treatment: inpainting abraded and compensated areas, sealing
